The Fluke 289 is a next-generation industrial logging multimeter with high performance capabilities. Designed for use in applications including electronics, plant automation, power distribution, and electro-mechanical equipment, the 289 can help you solve complex problems and find hidden issues before they become big ones. Thanks to its logging capabilities, the 289 can monitor equipment unattended over long periods and serve as a warning system for critical systems or processes. The 289 is able to log data and graphically review up 15,000 recorded events and logged readings with on-board TrendCapture. Zoom on trend provides a 14x zoom to view and analyze data without needing a PC.

Find Little Problems Before They Become Big Ones

TrendCapture is a powerful feature which quickly graphically displays logged data session to quickly determine whether anomalies may have occurred. The 289 also includes a selectable AC filter (smoothing mode) to help display a steadier reading when the input signal is changing rapidly or noisy. Adjustable recording and auto hold thresholds allow you to specify a percentage change in the readings that begins a new event.

The Fluke 289 also comes with an integrated low pass filter for accurate voltage and frequency measurements at the same time on adjustable speed motor drives and other electrically noisy equipment. Also included is Fluke’s LoZ Volts feature, a low impedance voltage function for eliminating ghost voltages. This is recommended when testing for absence or presence of live power. These features make the 289 a powerful tool for use in a wide range of demanding industrial applications.

Logging with TrendCapture

The 289 features a logging function with expanded memory for unattended monitoring of signals over long periods. Using on-board TrendCapture users can graphically review logged readings without needing a PC. You can store up to 15,000 recorded events internally on the 289, meaing you can save multiple logging sessions before PC download is required. Customize TrendCapture for your application with adjustable recording and auto hold thresholds to a percentage change in the readings that begins a new event. Use the zoom on trend feature to analyze TrendCapture data in-detail with up to 14x zoom. Peak capture to record transients is as fast as 250µs, so you can capture more data. Record and measure up to 100V / 10A AC and DC.

The 289 is wireless-enabled thanks to Fluke Connect technology. With Fluke Connect, you can set up the 289 with the ir3000 FC wireless connector (sold separately) to communicate with your iOS and Android smart devices through the Fluke Connect mobile app and monitor readings from a remote location. You can also share readings with your team in an instant anytime, from anywhere, with ShareLive™ video call. These features can help you solve problems faster and minimize downtime. For even more felxibility in reporting and analyzing your findings, the 289 also works with the optional FlukeView forms software, allowing you to document, store and analyze individual readings or a series of measurements, then convert them into professional documents.
